?You are listening to the Daily Roundup here as part of the Reality. Steve Podcast, I’m your host reality. Steve, thank you all for tuning in on this Friday. We’re gonna talk a little bit more. About the TFP Taylor, Frankie Paul as The Bachelorette. Some other thoughts that I still have and we’re also gonna talk about Big Brother Eviction last night.
Will is now been sent to the jury house, and I want to talk about the remaining contestants and kind of an overview of who even has a chance to win this thing and is it anybody likable? So let’s get started.
I think my voice is getting a little bit better. It’s definitely not as scratchy as it was yesterday. ’cause if you listen to the daily roundup, my gosh, towards the end of that, I even listened back to it. I was like, my gosh, I really sound raspy in that. It’s still a little, it’s still not fully back clearly, but.
I don’t feel like worn down. Like I was worn down yesterday when I recorded the Daily Roundup. That was the fourth podcast I had recorded yesterday. ’cause I recorded Sharon Tharp yesterday. I recorded the daily roundup. I recorded My Sports Daily, and I also recorded Next Thursday’s podcast already. And it is with the director of the movie, the Wrong Paris, which comes out today on Netflix.
So go check it out. It’s a bachelor parody movie starring Miranda Cosgrove. Who played I Carly back in the day? It’s a good movie. It’s a, it’s a nice fun rom-com. You’ll like it. I talked about this when I saw the trailer a couple weeks ago. I don’t know if you remember on the Daily Roundup, and I did that and it’s basically about a dating show where women have to compete for one man and that dating show was called The Honeypot, and they convinced the women they’re going to Paris.
As my voice cracks, like Peter Brady, they convinced the women they’re going to Paris, yet while they are going to Paris, they’re not going to Paris, France, they’re going to Paris, Texas. So they literally fly these women on a plane for nine hours circling. Flying there and essentially flying back, however you wanna say it.
They just circled for nine hours and then they land and they say, oh yeah, you’re in Paris, Texas. And the Bachelor is a country guy. I’m not gonna give away the ending, but you’ll like it. It’s an interesting cameo in the movie, but it comes out today on Netflix. It’s called The Wrong Paris. And we’re gonna talk to the director, Janine Damian, next week on the episode number 4 61, and I recorded that.
Wednesday. Yeah, so yesterday was just a rough day, or Wednesday was a rough day. Sorry, I’m getting my days mixed up since you’re listening to this. On Friday, Wednesday was the day I recorded four podcasts and the daily roundup was the last one, and that’s why my voice was pretty much shot. The other thing that I completely forgot to do, if you listen to episode four 60 with Sharon Tharp, if you listen to it on audio.
I forgot. I completely forgot to record an open and a close. So when I was adding the bumper music in the beginning and in the end, which is the rave up positively lost me. I was like, oh, crap. Because when I put the bumper music in, I put it in and have the audio of when the. Podcast starts and I’m like, oh my gosh, I didn’t even record an open and it was like 1130 at night.
And I’m like, I, I had just finished recording the daily roundup and I’m like, I’m not doing this. I I for one episode, they can not have an open and a close to my weekly podcast. So yeah, if you just listen to the episode four 60 on audio yesterday with Sharon Tharp, when the music. And the podcast started in the open, it was just straight from the video and there wasn’t a close either, so everything was just straight from the video.
So yeah, that’s what the medications that I couldn’t pronounce did to me. I was just, not that I was loopy, I wasn’t out of it. I clearly recorded a podcast yesterday and the day before, but you know, it was one of these things where. I on any other night, I would’ve been like, I, yeah, my open is usually like five to seven minutes and then the ending, the close is usually 60 to 90 seconds.
I was just so beat last night. The other night I was just like, forget it. Not, not gonna do it. So that was that. So I wanted to add a little bit more. I know you’re probably sick. Of hearing me talk about The Bachelorette, going to Taylor, Frankie Paul, you, you know my thoughts on it, but I wanted to add a couple more that I don’t know.
When I was listening back to yesterday’s podcast, I understood that it’s coming across like I hate Taylor, Frankie Paul, and I don’t hate her. I don’t even know her ’cause I don’t watch the show. I’m aware of what she did. I’m aware she pled guilty to an assault charge. I’m aware that she did throw a, I was saying chair apparently was a bar stool, like, let’s not get into semantics here.
She picked up furniture and threw it at her ex. Now, I had said it accidentally hit her child. I guess there are reports that it never hit her child. That’s irrelevant. The children were there. I don’t wanna say it’s not irrelevant. Obviously, if I reported that it hit the child and it didn’t, I was never saying she threw it at her child.
The point being is that she picked it up a piece of furniture and threw it when she was drunk, and my whole thing, as you heard me say yesterday, was like, Hey, I get it. People make mistakes. People have bad nights, people have awful nights. That wasn’t just a bad night. That was an awful night. I’m also guessing that was not the only awful night she ever had with her ex.
It sounds like the relationship was rather messy. It was a very toxic relationship. And so we, you know, we just lay out all these things, all these things that happen and it’s just like, why did it have to be her? But I don’t hate Ha Taylor, I’m not rooting against her. I’m just saying it’s definitely different going the celebrity route.
Like there’s nothing in me that thinks she has any interest in any of these guys. And I don’t think these guys really have much of a serious interest in her. I don’t really think you’re asking a lot when you put Jason Mesnick as the Bachelor with one child and you put Emily Maynard as the bachelorette with one child.
I don’t think that’s very much to ask of your contestants coming in. Hey, single parent, one child. Okay. You’re asking a lot of these men who I’m guessing are all now aware, it’s not like all the men have been cast. And it was just sprung on them. Oh yeah. By the way, your Bachelorette is a divorced woman with three kids from two different men.
They all know. They obviously all have the chance to back out or just say, you know what, this isn’t for me, but this is also an opportunity to be on tv. So it’s just not authentic anymore to me. I don’t think it should be authentic anymore to anybody, but. I’m not rooting against her. I’m just not gonna sit here and pretend that this is going to be some giant love story either.
This is going to be, yeah, it’s gonna have drama, it’s gonna have tears. At some point during the season, Taylor’s gonna get frustrated. She’s probably gonna walk out of an ITM say She doesn’t want to be there anymore. Like just because it’s a celebrity. An influencer. I don’t think that means anything different in terms of what we’re gonna see in the first trailer of the season.
You know, that three minute trailer that they give us. We’re gonna see guys crying, we’re gonna see her crying, we’re gonna see her threatening to leave. Like it’s the same thing every season. It’s just that we have somebody more famous in the lead role. And when you have somebody more famous in the lead role, yes, you absolutely have to question the guys that are actually applying and wanna be a part of this.
And I’ll speak more on that in a second.
