Oh No, The Crying At The End Of Squid Game Season 3’s Trailer Could Spell Big Trouble For One Character

A loud cry can be heard in the background towards the end of the new Squid Game season 3 trailer, raising many questions about how it could spell trouble for one main character. Squid Game season 2’s ending arc began on a hopeful note when Gi-hun convinced some of his fellow players to snag the guards’ guns and start an all-out rebellion. The resistant team even managed to take out several guards before they finally realized they were significantly outnumbered. Things went downhill when they ran out of ammunition, and characters like Dae-ho bailed out at the last moment.

Unbeknownst to Gi-hun, the Front Man, too, was deceiving him into believing he was just another regular player at the games. With so many harrowing developments in season 2’s closing moments, it is hard not to foresee how many characters will meet tragic fates in Squid Game season 3. The trailer for the show’s final installment hints at this and also features the sound of a crying baby, suggesting that one character, in particular, might face a previously foreshadowed personal crisis during the games.

The Baby Crying In Squid Game’s Season 3 Trailer Means Jun-hee Might Give Birth During The Games

Squid Game Season 2 Hinted Her Pregnancy Plot Would Eventually Be Explored

Jun-hee was revealed to be pregnant in Squid Game season 2’s early moments. The season also established that Yim Si-wan’s Myeong-gi was Jun-hee’s child’s father, but she did not want him anywhere around her because of his gambling addiction. She agreed to play the games because Myeong-gi took a lot of her money, made some terrible investments with it, and left her with crippling debt. He then disappeared and abandoned her before she learned she was pregnant with his child.

What Happened To Gi-Hun After Squid Game Season 2’s Abrupt Ending

Netflix’s Squid Game season 2 ends with an abrupt cliffhanger, but a first-look photo of season 3 confirms Gi-hun’s fate after his failed plan.

The crying sound towards the end of Squid Game season 3’s trailer suggests that Jun-hee might end up giving birth during the games. Squid Game has seemingly been building up to this plot development since season 2’s earlier moments. Owing to this, it will not be surprising if season 3’s emotional core is driven by Jun-hee’s pregnancy and the eventual birth of her child. However, considering where Jun-hee is in the Netflix Korean show, it is hard not to be worried about her and her child’s well-being.

Giving Birth During The Tournament Would Put Jun-hee & Her Baby In A Horrible Situation

The Games Are Undoubtedly The Worst Place For Someone To Have A Child

Squid Game season 3’s trailer suggests that even though the game’s organizers likely incurred significant losses after season 2’s final events, they would continue the games in season 3. If a full-fledged rebellion could not stop the organizers from resuming the deadly competition, the birth of a child will certainly not. This would put both Jun-hee and her newborn child in a dangerous situation. Despite becoming a mother, Jun-hee will still have to compete to ensure her survival. While at it, she will also have to protect her baby from other players and the deadly games.

Even the game’s organizers have shown no qualms about harvesting players’ organs, which raises many concerns about how they will react to the child’s birth.

The newborn child’s parents survived the first set of games in Squid Game season 2, but the stakes will only get higher with each new game in season 3. This raises the possibility that at least one of them will end up dead. Not to mention, since many contestants in the games are already morally corrupted and are willing to do just about anything to get their hands on the prize money, the baby’s well-being in season 3 is quite worrying. Even the game’s organizers have shown no qualms about harvesting players’ organs, which raises many concerns about how they will react to the child’s birth.

In Squid Game season 2, it looked like the game’s organizers had enough humanity left in them to send Jun-hee back home if her pregnancy escalated. However, after the final season 2 rebellion, things are starting to look grim for her and all other surviving characters. The organizers will be more aggressive with their approach and likely think twice before showing mercy towards any players. With the baby’s crying sound ringing almost like an alarm in the trailer, it seems possible that dark developments are coming Jun-hee’s way.

She might either die in childbirth or be forced to continue the games after giving birth. The people behind the games might even take her child away from her and force her to finish the games to be able to get her child back. Since all other morally righteous players will likely try to protect her, she might make it out alive. However, the likelihood of her survival seems low after the hinted developments in the season 3 trailer.

There’s A Small Chance The Crying Sounds In The Squid Game Trailer Aren’t As Bad As They Seem

The Crying Could Be A Red Herring

Squid Game often misleads viewers by featuring nightmarish scenarios, only to later reveal that it was a character’s dream. The crying baby could be a part of one of these nightmares, introduced only to scare viewers for a few fleeting moments. It was probably introduced in the trailer to mislead audiences into believing that Jun-hee will give birth when she actually will not. Or, even though Jun-hee’s chances do not look great, the unexpected interruption of her child’s birth in Squid Game season 3 might benefit other players in more ways than one.

It might either give them a stronger purpose to fight back against the game’s organizers or help them earn a little more time to plan their final escape. Considering how many Squid Game characters have unexpectedly died in previous seasons, Jun-hee’s story could head in myriad directions in season 3. Hopefully, if she does end up giving birth, she and her baby will safely make it out alive.
